Recent Shots.

A few shots from some of my recent outings.

Sweet Pea on Maun Valley Trail, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
A wander into Mansfield along the Maun Valley Trail.

I always find a little something to take a photo or two of each time I wander along the Maun Valley Trail, between Sutton in Ashfield and Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Another Sweet Pea shot on the Maun Valley Trail, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Also the Maun Valley Trail is one of my regular local walks; close to home and passing through 5 nature reserves in just a few miles.  The trail does go further but I rarely walk it beyond Mansfield, after Mansfield it passes through even more nature reserves.

A short visit to Creswell Crags a few weeks ago.

Rock outcrop at Creswell Crags, Derbyshire.
A site of special scientific interest, Creswell Crags was once the haunt of Stone Age man who inhabited the many caves in this limestone gorge.

My canine companion 'NoNames' waits patiently while I take a short break at Creswell Crags.
Creswell Crags has a visitor centre, museum, tea room and gift shop and attracts many visitors throughout the year due to its historic value and its appearance; a pleasant place for a picnic or stroll (or both).

Another shot of the same rock outcrop as earlier at Creswell Crags, Derbyshire.
On the same day as my visit to Creswell Crags 'NoNames' and I also visited Clumber Park, in the Dukeries area of Nottinghamshire.

The church and visitor centre area at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire viewed from across the river.
Clumber Park offers a very large parkland with cycle hire, visitor centre, Caravan Club site and acres of pleasant walking and cycling routes.

Road bridge over the river at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire.
A visit to Lumsdale in Derbyshire offers the opportunity to explore the now ruined mill complex and view the wonderful waterfalls and weir.

The weir at Lumsdale, Derbyshire.
Lumsdale is unique in being the only place within half hour drive from my home where I can find a decent waterfall.

Finally, for now, a recent visit to Chatsworth in Derbyshire on a sentimental journey.  I recall how as a youngster my sister, brother, and I used to go paddling in the river there near to the weir.

Thanks for viewing.  More coming soon.

Recent Changes

It was some time ago when I last posted on this site; to be honest, I'd forgotten about it.  Now things have changed, and it is likely that more and more photos and other photography related stuff is going to appear here.
This is due to some recent changes in my lifestyle, my spending, my spare time etc.  Basically I now have more time on my hands than I had previously, so I tend to spend some of that time taking photographs; and to aid my photo hobby I've recently made several camera purchases, and I now own no less than 7 digital cameras and like to make use of them.

Brace yourselves for a lot of new posts on here as I go through a lot of my photos from the last couple of years, and there is a lot; however I will not be posting them all, just a select few that I feel are the best or most significant.
I last posted here over two years ago, so there's a lot to catch up on, I must have taken thousands of photos since then.

Be prepared for a photo blitz coming this way soon. You have been warned!
